Steps for Fasting
1️⃣ First Stage – Hunger
- In the first 12–24 hours, the body uses stored glucose (glycogen).
- The hormone ghrelin increases, which causes strong hunger.
- After some time, hunger waves usually reduce.
2️⃣ Second Stage – Calm Mind
- After glycogen reduces, the body starts burning fat (ketosis).
- Ketones can make the brain feel calm and focused.
- Many people feel mental clarity or peacefulness during this stage.
3️⃣ Weakness / Mild Cold Feeling
- Metabolism slows slightly to conserve energy.
- Blood sugar is lower, so you may feel:
- Mild weakness
- Feeling cold
- Low energy
4️⃣ Meditative / Peaceful State
- When ketones rise, some people feel:
- Deep calmness
- Clear thinking
- A meditative or spiritual feeling
This is why fasting is used in many traditions during spiritual practices.
5️⃣ Motions (Loose stool)
This can happen because:
- The gut empties old waste.
- Bile release increases.
- When you break fasting, the stomach reacts quickly.
It is usually temporary if it happens once or twice.
⚠️ Important Tips During Long Fasting
Since you already did 62 hours fasting, be careful:
- Drink warm water with a pinch of salt.
- Break fast with light food: idly, fruit, or thin rice porridge.
- Avoid heavy oily food immediately.
- If diarrhea continues more than 3–4 times, stop fasting and eat normally.
One more thing
The white tongue, smell, and motions you experienced are also common during long fasting because the body is in ketosis and detox mode.
